Finally ! After a missed edition due to the pandemic, the WUGC (World Urban Golf Cup) is back in the spotlight. The entire urban golf community and other who play golf in different ways will meet in Luxembourg to try out the semi-rigid ball. A can’t-wait opportunity to meet again, but also for those who have not yet tried this “free” version of the sport, to discover an extraordinary atmosphere conveyed by a group of 11 nationalities.
So, if you like to chill out in a good ambiance, where the party is in full swing and you want to try street golf, come and see what’s going on in Luxembourg. And if you don’t really know what to do with your weekend, come and lend a hand. But first, here are 5 things to know about the Urban Golf World Cup.

It will take place at the Cité des Sciences in Belval in Luxembourg
Luxembourg city has its charms. But the industrial zone located about twenty kilometers from the capital was a center of national industry for several decades before collapsing after the reform in the 1960s and above all, before becoming our favorite playground.
Doing a quick search on Flickr, the snaps that come up are breathtaking.

11 countries will be represented
For the moment, 11 countries are represented, that is to say nearly 70 players registered for the tournament.
The United States has just canceled and for India which had made the trip in 2018 to Paris, the situation is a more complicated. Getting an appointment at the embassy took 3 months. And the guarantee of having a visa for Europe is far from certain. Nevertheless, the organizer reported me that everything was in order for India and that they would be there!
Other countries should confirm their registrations shortly. Austria, Poland and South Korea could be on the list below.
- Belgium
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Germany
- France
- Hungary
- Ireland
- Luxembourg
- Netherlands
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- India
Bogeymag will be there and I will play with the Dutch team.
As in 2018, during the WUGC in Paris, I will join the Dutch team to play the 2022 world cup. A privilege and a honor, which will help me share the experience with you from the inside.

This was the case in 2016 with the EUGC in Amsterdam. A superb edition which took place in the former shipyards of the Batavian city, and which saw the coronation of the French, individually and as a team. Then history repeated itself in 2018 in Paris, this time with the World Cup (WUGC).
It seems that we are back on a biennial rhythm for both the European Cup and the World Cup.
But these events, like all the others, come to life thanks to volunteers.
The organization needs volunteers
With 70 players expected and surely more, the organization is looking for volunteers for the day of October 1st.
On the program, you will have to help with logistics such as the distribution of goodie bags or drinks during the tournament. And if you are experienced in golf or street golf, you could become one of the group referees… who knows.
If you are interested you can always contact Sascha to ask him what you can do to make this event a success.
For my part, I will meet you on October 1st in Luxembourg.
