Urban Golf Map, the best way to find the best urban golf spot !

As an urban golfer or street golfer, it is often difficult to find good secure spots, where you can gently aim at a few targets without being disturbed or endangering anyone. In addition, like real golfers who have at their disposal an incredible number of golf guides such as leadingcourses , it was time for the urban golfer to have a guide too. An urban golf guide from Swiss

Contact by email I had the pleasure to exchange with Didi “the Dude” Keller on the creation of urbangolfmap and its future evolutions.

Even if the idea grew in Didi’s mind ages ago, the site really came into being 8 years ago. His desire is to connect urban golfers with their urban golf course. Besides, he is also behind golfsession.ch an off golf event company and the Royal Urban Golf Club, a Swiss community gathered around urban golf. And like me he thanks the internet for connecting passionate people with each other. After all, that’s how I got in touch with Urban Golf Unit and qualify for EUGC 2016.

A map to identify all spots

First of all, you will be enticed by the simple and efficient interface . No complicated menu, the site is easily accessible from a mobile. At the top left of the screen you can geolocate yourself, zoom in or out, search or even (what I advise you to do) add your own spots!

Add your own spots

The major advantage of this site is the community aspect. Contributing to this map is key principle. If you have found a spot, you must have the reflex to add it to the site. Why ? Because as an urban golfer, you will add your contribution to the map and you will have the opportunity to meet other players in your area!

In conclusion, I would say that this site is essential for the promotion of urban golf and for the open and accessible practice of golf for all. But that’s not all. Like all personal initiatives and I know what I am talking about, Didi needs you to grow the site, add functionality and as he says, developers are expensive. So go for it, share this site, add your spots, discover new ones!

  1. Nic, you know I disagree on the usage of the term ‘real golf’, since streetgolf must be said to be the origin of all golf ☝️

And then I would disagree, that it is ‘often difficult to find good secure spots’ – people with no imagination have difficulties …and you and I, as good teachers, are happy to guide the blind and feeble minded

So I love the map …and I love you

    • Hi Christian,
      Thank you for your comment.
This map is the best tool to locate secure locations.
I hope I will see you during the World Cup.
